with the vice president. one issue that came cross with president obama is since the health care roll out is bungled, there is this issue of trust. a new cnn poll when asked if you trust the president, 46% agreed and 53% disagreed. how much of a drag will president obama be on your prospects to reclaim the house and do you want him front and center on stage with candidates in swing districts? >> i don't think he is going to be a drag at all and honestly, we want the focus to focus on the affordable care act and when it works well and works better, our prospects are enhanced and the president's in that is a very strong one. it helps us. you have got two philosophies here. the democratic philosophy that recognizes that the roll out was a disaster. we have to be focussed on getting it right and most americans in the battle ground districts agree. they would rather get it right than repeal it. you have the republican philosophy that is obsessed with ambushing and sabotaging and repealing it. they are talking about going back to the days where a woman with breast cancer is told by her insuranc

a clean bill of health for obama care. deputy senior adviser from the white house joins me from the north lawn. david, thank you very much. you set a fairly low bar, this vague working for majority that want to sign on and 50,000 could be served at one time, 800,000 in a day. is that good enough? what's the next step? >> so andrea, as you know, this is going to be a process of continuous improvement. compared to where we were in early october as jeff said yesterday it is night and day to the point we can handle a certain number of concurrent users. we're monitoring to make sure the system is stable, the response times are good, the error rates are continuously going down. we've set up a queueing system for those instances where there's overwhelming volume on the system to better manage the flow. we've set up anonymous shopping right on the home page of healthcare.gov so people can look at plans in a much more comprehensive way. based on what we learn, we continue to make these improvements. so by the time we get to the end of open enrollment march 31st, as many people who want to sign up
, as in the problems with the health care plan have become president obama's katrina. >> but today, the website is now fixed enough that it looks like obama care is really here to stay. the repeal strategy is dead and obama care is out of the icu. according to the administration, the error message rate for the front end of the website is less than 1%. that's down from about 6% last month. the site can now handle 50,000 users at a time, 800,000 per day. keep in mind, at one point, the site could handle only about 1,000 users at a time. >> this website is and will function effectively for the vast majority of users. >> not only is the website functioning better, enrollment is up, too. over 100,000 people have successfully selected plans in the federal exchange in november alone, up from the nearly 27,000 who did so in october. during the first few weeks of november, california's same exchange enrolled more people in private plans than they did for the entire month of october. and in new york, over 33,000 people enrolled through the state's exchange in november, double the just over 16,000 people enrolle

obama is going to be doing some public thing every day to highlight good things about health reform, and to get people to sign up for insurance. december 23rd is the next big enrollment deadline for obama care, so the white house is taking on a new effort to fight back against the law's extremely loud critics. you can find of feel the change in tone from the white house on this subject already. they don't sound like they're playing defense on the subject anymore. the president gave a short kickoff speak about it this afternoon in washington, d.c., and i think it was telling this was the biggest applause line in the speech. >> i have always said i would work with anybody to implement and improve this law effectively. you have good ideas, bring them to me. let's go. but we're not repealing it as long as i'm president. >> on thursday this week, the venue will be different, the crowd bill probably be a little younger, and the president will be forced off script undoubtedly because president obama on thursday is sitting down for a one-on-one hardball college interview with chris matthews
